Dining Las Vegas… La Cave

Looking for top-notch competitive with Gordon Ramsay restaurants Las Vegas? Walking into this dark luxurious sexy restaurant with the soft volume of house-lounge music would lure even this master chef in to relax away from his establishments to test the succulent wine and food. The place is filled with ambience: deep rich colors alluring you to the mood of luxe dining.

You don’t feel like being glutinous with the Wynn buffet. You are in the mood for wining and dining yet small, elegant bites.

Years ago, this use to be a wine tasting Las Vegas strip cellar room. The employees and owners continuously heard from visitors they craved tasty food to pair with the unique wine selections. Now we have what is available today, La Cave – the food & wine hideaway serving exquisite drinks from around the world coupled with small plates.

Sitting in one of the comfy seating options such as the basket-swing chairs or the “owner’s chairs” makes this one of the best Las Vegas lounges. These are two chairs tucked in the back that are fancy but country rocking chairs. This is where the owner sits.

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or a novice, this elegant getaway caters to both. This Las Vegas sommelier is there at your beckon call to educate you as much as you wish. He specifically makes it his priority to select wines on the menu that you do not normally see at any other establishment – like J. Lohr or Justin, no Boone’s Farm here either!

What is exquisite is the multiple options of fun wine tasting themes you can choose from – sixteen to be exact when we visited. We chose “The Taste of Italy” and “Route 101”. This helped us decide which wine was our favorite to sip an entire glass as our night-cap.

To round out this experience, choose small plates from this best restaurant on the Las Vegas strip. Select a small plate you like, then the sommelier will choose a wine from the same region.

You cannot go wrong with a charcuterie board Las Vegas style - filled with three cheeses and meats along with a sliced apple, honey, fig, Dijon mustard and crostini. To fine tune the pairings, ask the chef to select slices to match your wine selections. It is difficult not to gobble this board up right away!

With hindsight, we recommend you skip searching for “pizza near me”. Ordering pizza is nothing compared to boxing half of this bountiful spread to go up to the room with one last glass of wine. The baked meatballs served with a creamy polenta are so good they did not even have a chance!

The meatball is a heartier selection. If you are wondering where is lighter food near me at La Cave? The Hamachi & tuna crudo and jumbo lump crab lettuce cups are the way to go.
